We are a small but established tour operating company based in Nelspruit, South Africa. We specialise in birding, wildlife and other natural history tours and safaris in Southern Africa and selected countries in other parts of the continent.
Lawson’s safaris comprise:
- small groups of up to 12 participants (safaris for larger groups or private tours are available on request).
- knowledgeable and experienced professional leaders.
- excellent accommodation with birds and wildlife on the doorstep.
- incredible wildlife destinations.
- comprehensive itineraries and species checklists.
Our business model incorporates three main elements:
1: Custom-made Safaris.
Custom-made safaris can range from day trips to multi-week expeditions and are designed around you – your availability, budget, interests and needs.
2: Other Operator Tours.
Lawson’s are ground agents for a number of reputable international natural history tour operators such as Naturetrek, Ornitholidays, Avian Adventures, The Travelling Naturalist, Holbrook Travel and Wild Rainbow Safaris.
Lawson’s have an exciting set-departure schedule, with a range of tours with set-dates and itineraries. These are small group tours and will suit those who prefer the advantages of group travel. All of our set-departure itineraries are available as custom made safaris for those who aren’t available on the set dates or those who prefer private trips.
Six reasons to consider Lawson’s for your holiday of a lifetime:
1: We have over 25 years of experience.
Lawson’s was founded in 1990, giving us significant experience in running birding and wildlife trips in Africa.
2: We are obsessed with professionalism.
From the personalised species check-lists and itineraries we give to our clients to our guides cleaning the windows so our clients can have as good a view as possible, Lawson’s are obsessed with being professional at all times. That doesn’t mean we don’t have fun though!
3: We have a great reputation.
Within birding and travel circles, Lawson’s has always been a highly respected name.
4: We have passionate guides.
Our guides don’t do what they do as a job – it’s a passion, a calling and a way of life, illustrated by the fact that when they have spare time, they’ll be out in the bush birding, game viewing, researching and taking photographs. The binoculars don’t get put away at 17h00 every day…
5: We have an awesome support team.
We believe that part of the success of our safaris is due a great support team in the office. This translates into thorough arrangements for each and every trip, and a solid back up resource for the odd time when logistics in the field do go awry.
6: We go the extra mile.
We like to go the extra mile for our clients. It’s just in our nature to make each and every client’s experience the best it possibly can be.
“You’ll want to return to Africa with us time and time again!”
“I could go on and on singing the praises of the trip, but I must keep it short. The trip was all and possibly more than I expected…”
Dave Evans, Manchester, United Kingdom
“We appreciated your quick and satisfying answers to our e-mails, your availability to find a solution (payment, etc), your accurate advice, your suggestions and help in the organisation of the rest of our journey”.
